Mom’s Actual Handwriting

~~My Mom’s favorite saying was “It’s not about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain” When I think back, my Mom really embodied this train of thought. Even though she was always in pain (like myself) she always had a smile on her face and loved to help others. Her beautiful giving spirit is what I strive to be like. In spite of my physical and emotional pain, I want to be able to live life. The biggest lesson I learned from her was it’s not about the quantity of years but the quality while your living them. 

 ~~Sometimes I am in way too much pain to do much of anything. But, on those days I try to still do something fun. I have many hobbies. I like to read, watch good TV (got a list of things to binge watch), scrapbook, latch hook when my fingers are working. I try to smile and remain humorous. Laughter can be the best for lightening my load of grief. I try to find things to be grateful for as well. 

~~I think sometimes it is easy for me to get caught up in all the things I can no longer do. When that happens, I stop and pray. I ask God to help me through the seconds and the hours of my day. I ask for strength only He can provide. I also thank Him that I am still present here on Earth. It’s very easy to get distracted by the negativity of my lupus & my fibro. But, I can’t stay in that mindset. I must move on. I must move forward. 

 ~~Life can be hard, even harder if there is an autoimmune disease or disorder. I know there are others like me in chronic pain. Through unity we can lift each other up. And at the top is God. He can and will always be there to help us. His love is miraculous 💜💜💜 Psalms 40:1-3 “I waited patiently for the Lord… And He heard my cry. He brought me up from a horrible pit… And set my feet upon a rock. He established my steps and put a new song in my mouth”
