God’s Garden

“You have to get up and plant the seed and see if it grows, but you can’t just wait around, you have to water it and take care of it.” ~Bootsy Collins

~~One talent I do not possess is a green thumb. I love flowers and plants. I just cannot keep them alive. I have tried but to no avail. However, there is one plant I have had now for 3 years, 1 month, 2 weeks, and 10 days. I don’t know what it is called. Some have guessed a succulent of sorts. Anyway, this plant I am desperately trying to keep green. I think the vines are supposed to have grown down the sides by now but at least it is hanging on. I talk to it and water it. I show it love. You guessed it. It was my Mom’s.

~~When I was a youngster in my youth group, my favorite spiritual advisor nicknamed me “Petunia.” I thought it was cute but what exactly did it mean I wondered? With a non-gardener’s train of thought even back then, all I could think was I come from dirt? I realized dirt was soil and the soil was where it all starts. My spiritual advisor was teaching me that just because I could not see my own beauty and worth at the time, God did. He plants the seeds in the soil. God was cultivating, He was pruning, He was talking to me, and showing me love. God wanted me to grow and bloom under His gardening expertise and it did not matter where I came from.

~~”Bloom where you are planted” Corinthians 7:17-24 is such an incredible Heavenly concept. If you have ever stopped to look at a plant or flower that has popped up from under concrete it’s proof that something beautiful can grow even under the most unfavorable circumstances. Even the rain is God’s way of making sure everything keeps blossoming. Some of us are smiling a little because we have had way too much rain lately, but for God’s Garden it is necessary for my analogy 😊 The Gardener sees the beauty in the flowers and it brings Him joy to watch the plants grow to maturity. Every little act of love and care goes into making sure that flower is protected.

~~I have a friend who posts pictures of her garden online. I am always delightfully jealous of how gorgeous the variety of flowers I see. I think of how much time and effort it must have took to tend to all of them. There are so many different kinds. I have no idea the names but the colors, the designs on the petals, the intricacy of the way she has them in her yard is just awesome. It is definitely a labor of love and I know she is proud of her creation. That is what I envision when God looks down upon all His flowers and plants here on earth. That kind of pride and protection in His work.

~~I watch over my Mom’s plant with love and care just like God watches over me. God has been better to me than I have been to myself. My spiritual advisor recently said “You are finally seeing yourself as God sees you.” Her and I have always connected on a deeper level of understanding. I am thankful the Lord has put her in my path throughout my life to protect me along side my Mom. The Gardener always at work. He protects me so I can keep growing. He planted that seed a long time ago in the dirt (now I can proudly interchange dirt and soil 😊) because He wants to show me  how valuable I am to Him. God loves All His Flowers and Plants. Each and Everyone has Incredible Potential. So, let’s Bloom! #LupusMariposa® #GodsGarden #NoGreenThumb #LoveGrowth 🌻🦋🌻
