“Love doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be genuine.”~Jennifer Burris
~I was thinking of my beloved Grandma yesterday as her picture popped up on my timeline. After her funeral, I went back to my Grandparent’s house and looked around at the home that provided shelter, security, and love throughout my life. The house my Grandfather built with his bare hands. I remember as a little girl claiming my Aunt’s room by the window so I could hear the sounds of the water from the creek below. It would always lullaby me to sleep.
~In my Grandparent’s bedroom there is a collage of photos. They start with my Grandma and continues in a big circle. The movement of images goes to my Grandfather and their kids, then their kid’s kids, and so on down the generations. I didn’t move from that designated spot where my Grandma carefully hung them all up through the years. I was crying from losing her but also because of the beautiful legacy and difference she had made to her family.
~My Grandma knew that what she had created was bigger than her. It started from her decision to love my Grandpa and grew from there. At times things were not easy but she remained steadfast in her faith in God that what was being created was meant to be. Nothing came overnight. Everything was built over time. She recorded her footprints and left as many love stamps as she could.
~We may not know where life will take us but one generated by love will last forever. Kindness spreads fast and who knows where it will land. Even if we don’t see the results from something doesn’t mean it is not out there doing good for someone. Footprints like my Grandma’s are huge and she was barely 5 feet tall. Take heart and have faith. One person can make a difference.
